MAINTENANCE & CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR CERAMIC COATINGS

Congratulations on having your parts ceramic coated.  Ceramic coating is highly durable and will last for many years with proper care.  The life and appearance of the coating are determined by the tune of your engine (for headers) and proper care.

PLEASE NOTE:  EXCESSIVE EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURES CAN DULL
POLISHED SILVER CERAMIC COATING ON EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND HEADERS

Excessive EGT’sare usually caused by excessive boost, too rich or lean fuel adjustment and/or incorrect ignition timing. Usually the coating is still adhered to the part and functioning as a thermal barrier.  Sometimes the shine can be restored by polishing the affected area.

CLEANING

NEVER use any type of solvent, steel wool, paper towels, scouring pads, scratch remover (unless clear coat safe) or strong degreaser to clean ceramic coating.  Solvents and strong cleaning materials will dull the shine of silver ceramic and possibly remove the coating.

WIPE gasoline, brake fluid and other chemicals from the coating as soon as possible.USE mild soap and water or non-solvent based cleaners (such as Simple Green) with a soft, non-abrasive cloth to clean the coating before polishing.

POLISHING

USE any non-abrasive metal (aluminum) polish on a non-abrasive cloth.

SCRATCH REMOVAL

USE only clear coat safe chrome polish or scratch removers.
